A graduate of Auburn University (Magna Cum Laude) and The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Jones began her career in 1998 as Assistant Editor for Cooking Light and Weight Watchers Magazines. In 2001, she began serving as Nutrition Communications Director for the Southeast Dairy Association where she was appointed National Spokesperson for the National Dairy Council. She was previously named Alabama’s “Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year” and has been featured in hundreds of media and print segments nationwide, including USA Today and The Wall Street Journal.
Jones is founder of RDs4Disclosure.org – a non-profit site championing full and transparent disclosure among registered dietitians. She is also co-founder of Healthy Aperture - a unique food photo gallery exposing what’s healthy to eat on the web – and Fit Framed - a one-of-a-kind photo gallery with a focus on fitness. Jones is the co-founder of The Recipe ReDux - the first and only on-line recipe challenge founded by registered dietitians. Her monthly participation in The ReDux, as well as her views on the topics of food and nutrition are detailed regularly on The Professional Palate Blog, where she frequently shares her thoughts on the balance between taste, health and the need for life’s other indulgences. Jones enjoys these little indulgences from her home in Georgia with her husband and two young sons.
